Some more wreaths

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

I made 2 more wreaths with wool. This blue wreath with white beads is similar to the pink wreath that
you might find in my previous posts. The only difference is the different wool colour and beads pattern.

And here comes the other one (third one from wreath series). This is also made with wool, no surprises in that area. But it does not use any beads. You can see for yourself.

I wrapped the wool around the Styrofoam wreath form. When finished, I braided the rest of the wool. To make it thicker, I used around 4 strands in each part of the braid making it 4 x 3 = 12 strands thicker. Then I wrapped and pasted one braid in the inner area of the wreath. For the outer area, I wrapped and pasted three bands of braid. Because, if you use just one, it might not be visible. Along with the braid, I used these cute little birdies which I bought from Xenos store for about 1.5 euros. And some crochet flowers for almost the same price.

I loved these birds. For those who want to use only one bird, try to buy a little bigger one. I used two to represent the bond of a couple...me and my other half :)

I used a pin to attach the birds on the wreath. One end of the pin goes inside the bird (kind of tough)
and other end goes into the wreath. And to make sure it does not fall off, I also applied some adhesive to the birds.

These are the crochet flowers that I pasted. I do not know how to do it, so I bought it. For those of you who know how to crochet, go ahead. Making your own flowers is always the best idea. You have wide range of colours to choose from and can make it with different floral patterns.

And............... tadah !!
