Tote bag painting

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Hi everyone!

Lately I have been so bored of my plain creme tote bags that I decided to paint them. I bought this orange bag from DM and painted it using some acrylic paints. Fabric paints would be much better if I had some. But acrylics worked just fine.

I used black to paint the branches first. And then used white and yellow to paint the flowers. To paint the flowers I used a q-tip.

I had another bag and I decided to paint mandala on it using white acrylic paint.

and done!

Table makeover

Sunday, August 20, 2017

Hello everyone !!

I had a plain white table from IKEA. I got bored of the plainness. So just to change the look I painted it using acrylics. Its super easy and looks great. I hope you like it :)

I started with drawing the pattern. I used a candle holder for making a pattern.

Once the pattern is drawn, I started with random colours and filled in. The palette was mostly grey, so I used colours which go with grey like salmon pink, light pink, yellow, olive green etc.

At this moment, I decided I wouldn't fill in the space between circles, so I scraped them. And I painted the rest of the area. Here is the final look.

Vase makeover using wool 2

Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Hello people, good morning 😊 !!

Here is another blog post for vase makeover. I have made two different vases similar to previous blog post, which can be seen  here. The first one is almost similar. I have used a different wool. I absolutely love the colours of this wool ❤.

The second kind also has wool wrapped around it. I have glued some Styrofoam balls on it just to give it a little contrast.

Vase makeover using wool 1

Thursday, March 2, 2017

Hello lovely people !

Happy new month 😃. Here is a tutorial of making use of used bottles into something decorative.

I have used glass bottles but one can use even plastic. So things you need are: wool, clear dry glue, clean dry bottle.

Start by making a knot at the bottom. and start wrapping the wool by pasting it with glue.

As the surface of the bottle is very smooth, the wool tends to slide off at the areas with smaller circumference. So try to hold the wool till the glue is dry. This project needs constant pushing of the wool in direction opposite to wrapping. I have started wrapping from bottom to neck. You can also try the opposite way. It might be easier.

In the end, I made a knot and left little bit wool hanging.

And added some wooden beads to the left over string.

Just to cover up some area in the bottom, I glued some pearl like beads.

And here you go 😊

Vase makeover using dot painting

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Hello all !

I had an idea of a vase makeover using dot painting. I was bored of the plain old white vase.
It looks something like this.

I started with this plain vase. I wanted to paint it all black and put white dots on it, but because the surface is so slippery and shiny, I started off with white background itself.

Love for cricket never dies even if you are far away from your home ❤ 😀.

I used q-tips for making the black dots and allpin for making smaller dots. I used acrylic paints for this makeover.

And there he is...great player...desh ki dhadkan 😁

And done !

I painted another vase with the opposite colours like below.

Photo frame makeover with colourful clay

Monday, January 30, 2017

Hi !
I wanted to gift something handmade to an awesome couple I love. I got the idea of photo frame with some clay makeover. For this project, I used play doh kind of clay.

I used all the colors in the package. It had red, blue, green, yellow, white & black. For the hearts on the frame, I used red clay. Rolled it into thin strings and started making a spiral which can be spotted in the lower part of picture below.

I glued that spiral on the frame. If you noticed, I used Fevicol...that's because I was in India while making it 😀😀😀!!

I saw this pretty knitted pattern using clay on Internet. Here's an easy tutorial video .

I was making normal clay spirals using white and black clay. But my lovely sister 😍 suggested to make spirals using both strings together. Thanks darling 💗.

Filled the big heart area with these pretty black and white spirals.

Next, I made pink and orange twisted strings to use them as borders for the big heart. For those who are wondering, I mixed red and yellow clay to make orange.... and red-white to make pink 😉. And we are done ...yay!! 😄
